Instagram DM Automation Setup
ViViDlyPro can automatically reply to Instagram Direct Messages from your customers.
Requirements
- Instagram Business or Creator account (not a personal account)
- Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account (required by Meta)
- Professional or Enterprise plan on ViViDlyPro
Step 1 — Switch to Instagram Business Account
If you have a personal or Creator Instagram account:
- Open Instagram → Profile → Menu → Settings.
- Go to Account → Switch to Professional Account.
- Choose Business and follow the prompts.
Step 2 — Link Instagram to Your Facebook Page
- Open Facebook → Settings → Instagram (or Instagram settings → Linked Accounts).
- Connect your Instagram Business account to a Facebook Page you manage.
Step 3 — Add Instagram Messaging to Your Meta App
- Open your Meta App at developers.facebook.com.
- Go to Add a Product → Messenger → Set Up.
- Under Instagram Settings, add your Instagram Business Account.
Step 4 — Connect in ViViDlyPro
- Go to Settings → Channels → Instagram DM.
- Click Connect with Facebook.
- Select your Facebook Page and the linked Instagram account.
- Authorize the required permissions when prompted.
Step 5 — Set Up Webhook for Instagram
Meta Messenger and Instagram share a webhook endpoint in ViViDlyPro. If you've already set up WhatsApp webhooks, add messages and messaging_postbacks to the Instagram subscriptions in your Meta App.
Step 6 — Customize Your Instagram Greeting
In Settings → Channels → Instagram DM → Greeting, write a custom welcome message that appears when a user sends their first DM.
Testing
- DM your Instagram page from a different account.
- The bot should auto-reply within a few seconds.
